My love for spray tanning started when I was 11 years old. I begged—like BEGGED—my parents to let me become an all-star cheerleader. At my very first competition, all my friends were getting spray tans, and of course… I wanted one too. That moment sparked an obsession I never grew out of.
Fast forward 15+ years later, and I'm still just as in love with sunless tanning—only now, it's backed by education, experience, and a deep respect for skin health. What began as a childhood fascination grew into a passion for understanding the science behind the glow and mastering the artistry that makes each tan look natural, effortless, and confidence-boosting.
Before founding The Sunless Bar, I built a career rooted in creativity and storytelling—traveling across the United States as a wedding photographer and later working at Adobe for 2.5 years. That blend of creativity, strategy, and structure shaped how I approach business today.
While at Adobe, I launched my first sunless tanning brand, Maddie Liz Tans, which quickly grew into a trusted name with a loyal clientele, including celebrities from SLOMW and RHOSLC. With over three years of hands-on experience, I've had the privilege of working with hundreds of clients and artists—each experience reinforcing my belief that sunless tanning should be personalized, educational, and skin-first.
The Sunless Bar is the evolution of that passion.
Today, I'm honored to share my love and knowledge of sunless tanning with both clients and artists—helping people feel confident, educated, and empowered in their glow.
